Abstract

Lipid formulation of amphotericin B is the initial drug of choice for central nervous system blastomycosis, but it is costly and associated with significant toxicity. This case report details a patient with primary pulmonary blastomycosis with dissemination to skin, joint, and brainstem that was successfully treated solely with high-dose fluconazole.
