In this issue of Clinical Medicine & Research, Ooi and colleagues describe what is currently known about the role of inflammatory cytokines in intraocular inflammatory diseases (uveitis). They also attempt to correlate knowledge of inflammatory cytokines in experimental uveitis with specific inflammatory molecules found in the inflamed eye to gain perspective on the immunological mechanisms involved in this potentially blinding group of diseases.
