Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology Tenure Track Position University of Saskatchewan
The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2006. Areas of departmental research include cell and molecular biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, and biomedical imaging (http://www.usask.ca/anatomy/people/faculty.shtml). Applicants must have postdoctoral training and a strong research program involving the use of biomedical imaging and/or synchrotron x-ray and infrared analyses in their research. A Biomedical Beamline is being built at the Canadian Light Source, Canada’s national synchrotron light facility, and involves a national team of basic and clinical researchers from human and veterinary health as well as animal and plant sciences. The Biomedical Beamline is designed to conduct groundbreaking research in both cancer therapy and medical imaging, and will include the capacity for clinical applications (http://www.lightsource.ca/bioimaging/). When completed, the Biomedical Beamline will become one of only a few dedicated biomedical beamlines in the world. The successful candidate will be involved in the teaching of gross anatomy within a newly designed, integrated approach to teaching biomedical science in the medical program. Previous teaching experience will be considered an asset.
