A 1962 postage stamp from the Republic
of Gabon displays a graphic promoting the
world's united effort to control the spread
of malaria. In this issue of Clinical Medicine
& Research, scientists from Gabon, along
with their collaborators from Benin, France,
and Germany, present their research
analyzing antibodies against the malaria
pathogen, Plasmodium falciparum, and the
distribution of genotypes for the
P. falciparum antigen, EBA-175, as related
to clinical malaria status in school children
from Bakoumba, Gabon.
